Limited Legal Services Provided for Dissolution
(Divorce), Separation, Filiation (unmarried parents):
The
attorney will draft and review documents necessary in
filing and completing the divorce process or other
family law matters. The attorney will provide legal
advice and help guide clients through the case.
Only
one party may be represented by the attorney. The
attorney will
NOT do the following:
- Determine the assets and
obligations of the marriage, their character and
value (parties will do that themselves)
- Determine an appropriate
division of the assets and obligations of the
marriage (parties will do that themselves)
- Appear in court to litigate
- Obtain a domestic relations
order dividing any pension assets (parties will need
to find a specialist, referrals will be provided
upon request)
- Participate in formal
discovery
